Delaney: Heyyyyyy im Delaney and I’m here with Sweet D, CEO of Sweet D Labs
Sweet D: Hey y’all !

Delaney: So, Sweet D, How does it feel to be one of New Yorks greatest living artists ?
Sweet D: Wow. Okay, Honestly, it feels amazing! I am moving soon though, so things will be changing at the labs…. Thank you for saying that btw .
Delaney: Oh yea? You are leaving the city ?
Sweet D: Yesss. I am going down south , to the mountains.
Delaney: I see. And how do you think leaving the city will change Sweet D Labs?
Sweet D: Well, I must say, the influence of New York cannot be escaped while living here… to loosely quote Lil’ Internet; the grid of the city looks like a computer motherboard, and thus, to be here is to be ‘plugged in… It’s too early for me to say exactly how things will change at the labs.

Delaney: Damn that’s real. So you wanna unplug ?
Sweet D: Yes and No… I want to see what inspires me outside of the city. It’s hard to be creative with The Man breathing down my neck, and it’s hard for my creation to be pure under such a capitalistic backdrop… I’ve been here almost 7 years, I’m ready to mix it up a little bit. But, To leave feels very bitter sweet …
Delaney: Well girl, we are definitely going to miss you round’ these parts. The city is always gonna be here.
Sweet D: Thanks Queen. I keep telling myself that when I start feeling sad about shit.
Delaney: Well, up to this point, what would you say inspires or drives what you’ve made at the labs ?
Sweet D: Hmmmm. So much. I will say, I’m passionate about embodiment. And activities that can help us get there; sex, riding a bike, yoga, playing around, etc. People really be disembodied these days.

Delaney: Ah. I noticed your Instagram bio has said “stay pure” since 2018. What’s up with that?
Sweet D: Since the beginning, one theme I’ve always played with is “staying pure”. To me that means trusting one’s gut/intuition, and knowing thyself. Following your heart and shit. Living in the city or being online, one can’t help but have the feeling of being perceived… There can often be some posturing or performance involved with that. It’s important 2 B real & stay real
Delaney: Wow that’s beautiful.
Sweet D: Thank you Delaney. Easier said than done, that’s for sure.

Delaney: You’re welcome. I’m starting to get a little sad you’re leaving now… Do you have any advice to leave us with ?
Sweet D: Hmmmm I would say. Be Real. Don’t forget where you came from. You are free and you can do whatever you want. And most importantly; Don’t forget to play ;)
Delaney: Ah- Thank you Sweet D. I wish you luck on your future endeavors.
Sweet D: Thank you! Godspeed to you! Peace and love to all y’all! 😘

Oh Delaney will miss seeing you around here <3 A pure light :)
